Jesus is Lord over the elements of nature. The wind, the rain, and the waves obey His command. One time Jesus was asleep in a small boat on at the Sea of Galilee. A storm arose and His twelve disciples were afraid for their lives. Jesus awoke and rebuked the storm. The wind and rain stopped. Another time when His disciples were alone in a boat, Jesus came to them walking on the water. Peter asked if he could join Him and for a few steps Peter too walked on the waves. But soon he was distracted. He was afraid, took his eyes off of Jesus, and began to sink below the waves. Peter shouted, “Lord, save me”, and Jesus pulled him into the boat. How important it is for us to keep our eyes on Jesus.
