God chose Abraham to be the “Father of many nations” and the “Father of Faith”. Unlike Adam and Eve who fell from grace, Abraham obeyed God and this was counted as righteousness. At God’s command, Abraham left his home country in Babylon and became a stranger in Canaan. He trusted God in his old age and his wife, Sarah, gave birth to a promised son named Isaac. Abraham remained faithful to God even to the point that he was willing to sacrifice this promised son. Abraham is the father of the Hebrew nation and ancestor of Jesus Christ. He is the spiritual father of all who live by faith.
